Kurt Remele is Associate Professor of Ethics and Social Thought in the Department of Catholic Theology at the University of Graz, Austria. He teaches and publishes in the areas of ethics and Catholic Social Thought, political philosophy and sociology of religion, environmental ethics and animal ethics. He was a Fulbright Scholar at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. (spring semester 2003), a Visiting Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Minnesota (fall semester 2007) and in the Department of Religious Studies at Gonzaga University, Spokane, USA (academic year 2011/12). His most recent book is Die Würde des Tieres ist unantastbar. Eine neue christliche Tierethik (Kevelaer: Butzon & Bercker, 2016) He is presently working on a book about the common good.
